Karen Woodmansee

          Karen E.H. Woodmansee, owner of Time For You Fitness, LLC. has been in the fitness industry for over twenty years. She is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Health Coach, and Behavior Change Specialist. As an ACE Subject Matter Expert (SME) Karen has contributed to “ACE ProSource” (now “ACE Certified”), ACE’s online magazine, and is an ACE Spokesperson, most notably hosting the 2012 Hershey Track and Field Moderation Nation events in Philadelphia, PA. She has provided exercise information to weather.com. Karen is honored to be part of the exam content team for ACE’s NCCA accredited worldwide exams. She provides subject matter for exam items as a writer and editor, participates in cut score determination, exam assembly, and reclassification committees. She serves under the title of mentor to groups of writers as she guides them through the exam writing process.
          Throughout the past twenty years, Karen has taught all ages, from four years to ninety four and beyond, with diverse backgrounds and experiences. As the owner of Time For You Fitness, Karen works with college students, especially runners, as a personal trainer with a dedicated focus to create yoga programs for athletes to improve flexibility, strength, and endurance both on the mat and on the field. She is a consultant for behavior change, provides workshops and presentations as a health coach, teaches group fitness and yoga and is passionate about her work with the senior-age population as a strength specialist. Recently her work with area youths as Interim Program Manager for Youth Races with the City of New London Department of Recreation incorporated her skills in marketing and advertising with her passion for fitness. She coordinated, promoted, and co-managed three run, bike, and swim races and clinics for children ages five to seventeen. As Program Manager she solicited and facilitated the cooperative efforts of various Parks and Recreation Department directors and staff from eight towns in the surrounding area as well as local businesses and volunteers.
          Karen has provided presentations for the local NAACP and Weight Watchers, as well as other organizations, teaching and promoting health, fitness, and wellness throughout the region to diverse populations.
          Recently, Karen completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at the prestigious Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Karen wholeheartedly dedicated herself to this achievement as she devotedly committed to the intensity of this total immersion program.
          Karen has a master’s degree in education from Sacred Heart University, CT and has developed and implemented an entire Connecticut State Standard Physical Education curriculum for grades kindergarten through eight from the ground up for a private education institution. She completed an additional two years undergraduate course load in the CORE Teaching Certification Program at Eastern Connecticut State University for grades kindergarten through six. Her bachelor’s degree is from the University of Connecticut in Communication Sciences.
