Lisa is an E-RYT 500 hr yoga teacher and YAECP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). She has been practicing yoga since 1996 and instructing since 2008. Lisa also has her Doctorate in Pharmacy and in her role as consultant pharmacist and providing medication management counseling services to patients, Lisa often recommends movement (AKA "exercise") and breathing techniques to complement medication regimens in an effort to improve her patients’ health and well-being. She believes in an integrative approach to wellness and Pro-Aging (aging well and feeling good for as long as possible)! Lisa enjoys learning and sharing what she loves in a positive and playful way! Lisa is a self-proclaimed anatomy "geek" and "fascia-nista" and loves learning more about our magical and wonderful bodies and incorporating what she learns into her teaching! She loves to learn and is most always enrolled in some new training that she can share with her students! She is a perpetual student and collects certifications like other people collect shoes or memorabilia! LOL! In her pharmacy world, Lisa is a certified in many disease state management programs (cardiovascular management, lipid management, Medication Therapy Management, glucose management, fall prevention and more). She prides herself on helping patients and clients take medications appropriately and also utilize movement, meditation, mindfulness, nutrition and other modalities to maximize their health and wellness! Lisa's personal goal is having a long Health-Span not just a long Life-Span!
She practices and teaches all types of yoga and has been trained in Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Gravity Yoga, Yoga Trapeze, Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga, MELT Method® Hand & Foot Certified and so much more! Lisa is Yoga Tune Up Certified® (meaning she has completed and is certified in all of the trainings offered by Jill Miller: Roll Model Method®, Yoga Tune Up®, and Body By Breath®).
In addition to many styles of yoga, Lisa is certified in TRX-resistance training and group cycling (through Mad Dogg and Schwinn), and as a Personal Trainer, Health Coach and Breath Coach. She is also a Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki Master/Teacher and leads Mindfulness and Meditation classes and trainings.
She loves group cycling, as well as road biking, running and swimming and has completed 6 sprint triathlons. She believes that her yoga practice complements other modes of exercise and makes her a better athlete and all the other modes of movement enhance her ability to do everything else!
Lisa loves introducing yoga, fitness, breathing, mindfulness and other wellness modalities to people who have never practiced and watching them fall in love with it and feel great! Her classes are taught with lots of love and playfulness and she offers many options, variations, and modifications - so regardless of ability, level of experience, or flexibility (or lack thereof) you can find what you need in class.
